The Financial Analyst will help standardize processes across countries and business groups to enhance efficiency in high-volume transactional accounting and support outsourced routines in a compliant manner. Additionally, the role involves leading continuous improvements within your scope.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage parent consolidation and reporting to Sony Global headquarters, including queries, instruction updates, and completing various accounting schedules.
  • Review subsidiary trial balances and postings.
  • Coordinate reporting changes and instructions for business divisions.
  • Coordinate monthly closing with inputs from stakeholders across platforms, business groups, sales, marketing, and business controlling, adhering to the central timetable.
  • Manage fixed asset and right-of-use asset reporting for Sony North America.
  • Perform month-end closing operations, including journal postings, adjustments, and reviews.
  • Conduct variance analysis for North America as a primary deliverable to management during month-end closing.
  • Review BS reconciliations, ensure all balances are validated, and manage queries related to financial accounting and reporting.
  • Support the delivery of month-end close processes to facilitate accurate financial reporting and variance analysis against forecasts and budgets.
  • Review and approve journal entries, including accruals and provisions, prepared by offshore teams.
  • Respond to statutory, tax, and audit queries from Sony Finance Global Accounting, internal, and external auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with Sony Corporate Accounting Policy and SOX controls in all financial activities.
  • Provide technical guidance to the business as needed, under supervision and in accordance with policies and IFRS.
  • Support Global Tax Office requests with general ledger information.
  • Drive process standardization across countries and business groups for transactional accounting efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven results in process improvement.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Experience with IFRS and consolidation reporting.
  • SAP experience.
  • Fixed asset management experience.
  • Experience with Nakisa right-of-use assets software is beneficial.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $69,000 to $84,000. The actual salary offered depends on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.

In addition to base salary, the role offers an annual bonus based on company performance, comprehensive benefits including healthcare, paid leave, 401k matching, paid parental leave, and more.
