Are you an experienced Lab/Test Engineer 4 with a desire to excel? If so, then Talent Software Services may have the job for you! Our client is seeking an experienced Lab/Test Engineer 4 to work at their company in Redmond, WA.

Position Summary: The main function of this role is to apply configuration skills at an intermediate to high level. The Test Engineer will analyze, design, and develop test plans and should be familiar with at least one programming language.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities :

We are seeking a contract Engineer with extensive experience in configuring and testing hardware devices across Windows Server and Ubuntu Server platforms. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and be capable of producing comprehensive and detailed reports. Proficiency in scripting languages is essential. The role involves deploying and managing test machines, refining test plans, executing test cases, performing hardware diagnostics, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating closely with the development team to advance the functionality of hardware systems. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and development in C and Rust will be considered a significant asset.

• Purpose of the Team: This team focuses on security hardware and intellectual property. Their work is primarily open source, with some potential for internal code review.
• Key Projects: This role will support the development and testing of technologies deployed in large-scale cloud environments.
• Typical Task Breakdown and Operating Rhythm: The role consists of 10% meetings, 10% reporting, and 80% focused on developing and testing.

Qualifications:

• Years of Experience Required: 8-10 years of experience in the field.
• Degrees or Certifications Required: N/A
• Best vs. Average Candidate: The ideal resume would include Rust experience and experience with open-source projects.
• Performance Indicators: Performance will be assessed based on the quality of work, meeting deadlines, and flexibility.
• Minimum 8 years of experience with data center/server hardware testing.
• Minimum 8 years of development experience with C and Python.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with CI/CD and ADO pipelines.

Preferred:

• Software testing experience in cloud, Windows, and Linux server environments required.
• Ability to read and write at least one programming language such as C#, C/C++, SQL, with Rust being a plus.
• Knowledge of software quality assurance practices and a strong testing aptitude.
• Knowledge of personal computer hardware and experience in deploying and managing hosts and virtual test machines.
• Knowledge of internet protocols and networking fundamentals preferred.
• Solid understanding of the software development cycle.
• Demonstrated project management ability required.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science required, with some business or industry experience preferred.
• 5-7 years of experience.
