We are currently seeking a skilled Metal Fabricator/Welder to help bring one-of-a-kind concepts to life. In this role, you will use a variety of welding techniques and fabrication tools to build projects based on detailed blueprints and drawings. Your expertise in MIG and TIG welding, along with your ability to handle layout and finishing, will be key in creating safe, high-quality, and visually impressive components. You'll be responsible for fabricating and assembling custom metal structures, interpreting blueprints and fabrication sketches, and setting up and maintaining welding and cutting equipment. The job also involves performing precision layout, jig-making, and part alignment, as well as preparing metal surfaces for welding through cutting and grinding. A clean, organized, and safety-conscious approach is essential, as is the ability to collaborate with team members to meet deadlines and tackle build challenges together. You'll also assist with general shop duties and support cross-department projects. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of hands-on experience in metal fabrication and welding, with strong proficiency in reading tape measures, shop drawings, and blueprints. Familiarity with fabrication tools such as grinders, calipers, and saws is a must, along with knowledge of safety protocols and proper PPE usage. Experience with creative or exhibit-based builds is a plus. We're looking for someone who's adaptable under pressure, communicates well, solves problems with confidence, and takes pride in the details of their craft. The ability to work well independently as well as in a team setting is critical. Physical qualifications include the ability to consistently lift 50 to 75 pounds and perform manual labor in a variety of positions. You should be comfortable working at heights, on ladders, and in confined spaces, and capable of standing for long periods in hot or cold environments. All team members must be able to wear required PPE and adhere to safety guidelines. Reliable transportation to our shop in Sturtevant, WI is also necessary.
