Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Providing critical mental health support within a K-12 educational environment, this contract position offers the opportunity to deliver evidence-based individual and group counseling services for students. You will serve an itinerant role, supporting students at multiple elementary schools, and contribute to their overall well-being and academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver mental health counseling to K-12 students through individual and group sessions.
  • Utilize verbal de-escalation strategies to manage and support students experiencing behavioral crises, applying techniques tailored for children and adolescents (TEACH model).
  • Prepare and contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) documentation, collect data, and monitor progress for students on your caseload.
  • Collaborate effectively with classroom teams including teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers.
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health appraisals encompassing psycho/social/behavioral assessments and develop remediation plans based on evidence-based educational and therapeutic practices.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling (psychologists not considered).
  • Minimum two years of experience working directly with children and parents, with proven ability to conduct mental health appraisals and develop therapeutic plans.
  • Valid Florida Department of Education certification in social work or licensing as a clinical social worker or licensed mental health provider according to Chapter 491, F.S.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills for effective collaboration within educational settings.

Location: Position based in Naples, FL with on-site work at Sabal Palm Elementary and Bear Creek Elementary.

Schedule & Duration:

  • Start Date: January 5, 2026
  • End Date: May 29, 2026
  • Full-time, 35 hours per week (7 hours daily)
