Position Overview

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Social Worker to join a supportive district in Plainfield, IL (60544). In this role, you will be a key member of the student support team, helping to address social, emotional, and behavioral needs, and fostering an inclusive environment where all students feel safe and supported.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling to students experiencing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to design and implement effective intervention strategies.
• Support students with conflict resolution, coping skills, and peer relationships.
• Serve as a liaison between the school and outside support agencies or service providers.
• Develop and lead school-wide initiatives that promote mental wellness and emotional resilience.
• Advocate for students and families to ensure access to community resources and educational support.

Qualifications

• Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) or a related field.
• Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Social Worker Endorsement.
• Previous experience in school-based or child-focused settings preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive practices.
