Survey Crew Chief - West Coast of Florida (Naples, Fort Myers, Sarasota)

Full-Time | Field-Based | Civil Construction Projects

A respected infrastructure contractor in Southwest Florida is urgently hiring a Survey Crew Chief to lead field land surveying operations for road and bridge construction projects. This is a great opportunity for an experienced land surveyor with party crew chief experience to take on a leadership role in a growing company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead construction, boundary, topographic, and as-built surveys.
• Supervise a crew of three and train crew members whenever necessary; ensure safety and efficiency.
• Operate total stations, GPS (Trimble preferred), and data collectors.
• Work 2 small projects or 1 large project at a time, ability to prioritize and delegate workloads to meet deadlines.
• Interpret construction plans and manage site layout.
• Communicate with engineers and site management.
• Maintain accurate field notes, control points, and daily reports.
• Support QA/QC with as-built and progress documentation.

Requirements:

• 5+ years in surveying (2+ as Crew Chief); civil/roadwork experience preferred.
• Proficient with robotic total stations, GPS, and construction layout practices.
• Strong knowledge of FDOT standards and reading CAD files.
• Valid FL driver’s license; ability to work outdoors and travel to sites.
• OSHA certification and UAV experience a plus.
• Ability to travel across west coast of Florida, including Fort Myers, Naples Sarasota for projects.
