Job Description
Manpower is seeking a full time Title Clerk to join one of our clients. The Title Clerk plays a key role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of vehicle titles, supporting auction operations, and maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations. This position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Process and verify vehicle titles in accordance with state and company requirements for wholesale transactions.
Receive, log, and track incoming titles to ensure timely resolution of missing or incorrect information.
Prepare titles for transfer by verifying accuracy of VINs, lien releases, odometer disclosures, and supporting documentation.
Coordinate with sellers, buyers, and lenders to obtain necessary documents for title processing.
Maintain detailed records and files for all title transactions; update title status in internal systems (e.g., AS400).
Ensure title packets are mailed accurately and on time after the sale.
Resolve title issues and respond to inquiries from customers, dealers, and internal departments.
Support the auction process by confirming title status and vehicle eligibility for sale.
Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Arbitration, Transportation, Recon) to streamline title-related processes.
Ensure compliance with all DMV, state, and federal title processing guidelines.
Assist with audits and reporting as needed by management.
Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required.
2+ years of title processing experience in an auto auction, dealership, or DMV setting preferred.
Working knowledge of DMV title regulations and title documentation requirements.
Strong data entry and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with systems like AS400 preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, and perform data entry for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
Manual dexterity and vision sufficient to perform document review and computer work.
